Insulated patio covers are 3" foam sandwiched between two sheets of aluminum. Insulated patio covers reduce heat by up to seven degrees. Non-insulated panels are the material that provide the shade and are formed with sheets of aluminum ranging from .018" - .032" in thickness. One type of patio cover is not better than the other. We can help you determine which option would be the better fit for you based upon your needs, location, and expectations.
